Tom and Jerry: The Fast and the Furry is a 2005 animated action-comedy film featuring the legendary cat-and-mouse duo. Made by Warner Bros. Animation and Turner Entertainment, it was released to celebrate Tom and Jerry’s 65th anniversary. The film was shown in select U.S. theaters on September 3, 2005, followed by a VHS/DVD release on October 11, 2005, and a Blu-ray release on April 5, 2011.

After wrecking their home during a chase, Tom and Jerry are evicted by Tom’s owner. They enter the “Fabulous Super Race,” a global, high-stakes reality show promising a luxurious mansion as the prize. They build their vehicles in a junkyard and compete against quirky racers like Grammy and her dog Squirty, evil florist Gorthan, fame-hungry Steed Dirkly, multitasking Soccer Mom, and eccentric Dr. Professor—who accidentally vaporizes himself before the race even starts.

The race kicks off in Hollywood and spans Mexico, the Amazon, Antarctica, Australia, Borneo, and back to Hollywood. Along the way, racers are hilariously eliminated due to sabotage, accidents, and Tom’s dirty tricks. Steed is eaten by sea monsters, Gorthan gets stuck to a pole, and Soccer Mom sinks in quicksand. Even Grammy is swallowed by a whale—twice.

Tom and Jerry reach the finish line together, tying for first. But J.W., the greedy studio head, demands a tiebreaker. Fed up, they beat him up and steal the mansion keys. The President of Hollywood eliminates J.W., and Irving takes over.
